Autograph letter signed to J.G. Cottasche Verlager expedition, 1839 May 5.

Letter addressed to J.G. Cottasche Verlager expedition, Augsburg, a German publishing firm founded by Johann Georg Cotta in the 17th century. The letterhead depicts two scenes showing trestle construction, a steam engine and railroad cars built by William Norris in Philadelphia. The cars contain people and freight. The prints were etched by Perlaska in Budapest.
